"le Musée du Louvre conserve une autre version de ce tableau (inv.7161). Cependant celui de Carcassonne diffère légèrement par quelques modifications qui indiquent que celle-ci est postérieure à celle du Louvre. Ainsi le putto tenant une torche, au-dessus du voile de Galathée est remplacé dans notre toile par 2 amours."
