July 4th is approaching, and many Americans are excited to celebrate our so-called independence. But why? How will this July 4th be any different from that of 2020? Haven\u2019t the past three years revealed that Americans not only take liberty for granted, but readily reject it? Is it not the least bit curious that some, if not most, of those who\u2019ll be setting off fireworks also begged to be locked down and masked? Yes, the frauds that are \u201cpublic health\u201d and \u201cdemocracy\u201d have been exposed over the past three years, but what\u2019s changed? Doubling down on idiocy seems just as politically profitable as exposing it, so perhaps the talking heads have no interest in solutions. And their acolytes, who\u2019d rather be coddled than be free, likewise have no interest in solutions, but only in believing whatever makes them feel comfortable.<\/p>\n

What began in 1776 as a manifesto for preserving voluntary exchange—capitalism—has been mutilated beyond recognition. \u201cWe hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.\u201d But today, it\u2019s painfully obvious that our government, which was intended to \u201csecure these rights\u201d and is allegedly \u201cfrom the consent of the governed,\u201d truly acts as if some are created \u2018more equally.\u2019 \u201cThat whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government…\u201d But the majority don\u2019t wish to \u201calter or to abolish it;\u201d they wish to augment it. Unfortunately for the reader and author, the \u201clong train of abuses and usurpations\u201d over the past three years weren\u2019t abusive enough for the majority. Sure, I could contact my elected representatives, but it seems that the past 3+ years are no different from the past 2.5 centuries: \u201cOur repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury.\u201d<\/p>\n

Experts of injustice—lawyers—will say that the Declaration of Independence isn\u2019t legally binding, but what about the oath of office that politicians, bureaucrats, and members of the military swore to uphold? \u201c…I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic…\u201d Protecting Americans from foreign enemies is to be congratulated, but killing domestic enemies is treasonous? I fail to see the consistency. No, I\u2019m not advocating violence; I\u2019m simply pointing out the hypocrisy. In the \u201cland of the free,\u201d only the experts of injustice are allowed to interpret the Constitution. How many more decades or centuries must pass before the following thoughts are accepted, before they\u2019re internalized and acted upon?<\/p>\n

It turns out that democracy is even worse than what Benjamin Franklin believed. Democracy is two lambs eagerly electing a wolf, which proves—to me at least—that politics is worse than worthless (like masks \u2018fighting\u2019 respiratory viruses). Politics is the poison that degrades everyone—even those who don\u2019t consume it. There are no quick fixes—libertarian or otherwise—and since no one but the parasites can decide to change the manner in which they lord it over everyone else, the only solution to the malignant state is its implosion. It\u2019s not just that the president is too old; it\u2019s that we\u2019re all too old to give a shit. Our once-great nation can no longer afford the incessant bitching. Though it\u2019s also quite old, the Declaration of Independence provides the path to prosperity. Why has it been shunned? Yes, \u201clive and let live\u201d died long ago, but isn\u2019t it preferable to \u201ckill or be killed\u201d? Our \u2018leaders\u2019 think we\u2019re stupid. When will we prove them wrong?<\/p>\n

Robert Higgs concluded his article—\u201cCan the Rampaging Leviathan Be Stopped or Slowed?\u201d—with: \u201c…ultimately this criminal enterprise will attain such bloated size and scope that its own survival will no longer be possible, and it will implode, as the Soviet Union and other similarly overreaching politico-economic orders have imploded.\u201d Before that glorious day arrives, I wish to declare independence from the geriatric parasites—federal, state, and local—who serve only themselves, not me or my neighbors. And other than parasitize us \u2018peasants,\u2019 they no doubt wish to have nothing to do with us. The tax-fed seem to have forgotten that without taxes, they don\u2019t eat. It\u2019s long past time that the host shows the parasites who\u2019s boss. The win-win seems to be peacefully separating from each other. That\u2019s something I\u2019d like to celebrate on the 4th, and for those who seek domination over peace, comforting lies over inconvenient truths, or censorship over free expression, do us all a favor and #StayHome.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
